SPACE AFFAIRS BAIKONUR EXPEDITIONS 2017 - STAR CITY AND LIFTOFF SOYUZ COSMODROME BAIKONUR

Next on target: Soyuz MS-05 - lift off planned July 28, 2017 (TBD)

DEPARTURE TO SPACE

Soyuz roll out integration hall - BaikonurFirst not recognised by the world and providing it under secret conditions, a rocket lifted up on April 12, 1961, in the Central Asian steppes of Kazakhstan. There is the Russian cosmodrome 'Baikonur'. If this flight hasn't carried a special cargo to space, it wasn't published as one of the markable steps of humankind. At the top of the rocket, there was the space ship 'Vostok 1' with Russian cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin.

Yuri penetrated not only the first time as a human space, but he orbited the earth also in 108 minutes and landed safely by parachute near the cities of Saratov and Engels. Now, the Russians had shown with pride, that it was possible to bring a man into space and safely back to Earth! At that time, certainly not just an adventure! The first American in space was Alan Shepard, on May 5, 1961. Aboard Mercury 'Freedom 7' he performed a ballistic flight to space and reached an altitude of 187 km, the trip was over after 15 minutes. The first American in orbit was much later John Glenn on board Mercury "Friendship 7" on 20 February 1962, when he orbited the Earth three times.

Soyuz on the railway arrived on the launchpadNow, more as 50 years past by since Yuri's flight. We are providing since 2004 very special tours to the Cosmodrome Baikonur in the Kazakh steppe.

Soyuz will rise in the sky of Kazakhstan again. You will take part at all of the launch preparations, what will begin if the Soyuz integration hall's door opens. The doors will be open early in the morning, and the Soyuz will carry out on a train to the launch pad. You will follow the train to the pad. Before you visited world legendary, Star City and you will see the Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center. You will be ready to watch the liftoff of the Soyuz rocket only 1.5km away from the pad, nowhere else in the world you will have such an opportunity to come closer. You will be a part of the history when the Astronauts and Cosmonauts head into the direction to meet space station ISS. Only 6 hours after the liftoff, you will follow at Baikonur on big TV screens the docking procedure, but everywhere you will feel the presence of Yuri Gagarin and Sergey Korolev. Both men made it first possible; the encounter of humankind with space.

You can choose between two special programs:

V.I.P. Baikonur Program Short program Baikonur

One of our groups inside the Hydrolab - Gagarin Cosmonaut Training CenterSince 1998 the first module of the International Space Station, the largest project of manned space flight since the moon flights of the Americans between 1968 and 1972, is in space. 16 nations can put their scientific know-how together, to settle up the greatest outguard of humanity. Since then the ISS is further developed and build, and since 2011 it's ready.

Go now with us on a journey, to take part of one of the greatest and largest adventures of humanity.

At first, you will feel the great Russian hospitality in Star City, then walk with us on the steps of the journey of the Russian space history from the past, into the present and out into the future. You visit the different pieces of training facilities of the GCTC (Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Centre) at Russian Star City. Here, Russians, Americans, Europeans and Japanese cosmonauts and astronauts train for their flight into space. Soyuz rocket on the Gagarinsky launchpad - BaikonurThis will begin at the Russian cosmodrome "Baikonur" in Kazhakstan. From this cosmodrome, the first satellite of the World - "Sputnik" was launched (1957), and also the first human space flight of Yuri Gagarin on April 12, 1961, took place there. From this cosmodrome, there were launched over 1.600 spacecraft to space!

Then, the absolute highlight of your journey: the lift off of a manned mission to the International Space Station ISS. Three daring cosmonauts and astronauts from different nations go on board a Soyuz TMA-M, and within 8 minutes they are with their spacecraft in Earth orbit. 6 hours later, if anything is going according to the plan, they will dock with the ISS. You will see the liftoff preparations, and watch the liftoff in a distance of approx. 1,500 meters beside the powerful Soyuz rocket. Nowhere else in the world, you can see a liftoff of a spacecraft nearer than here.

On the Buran launchpad - BaikonurSpecialists from space technology and history will accompany you around the clock on your trip. Locally specialists are beside you, who will answer you the difficult questions.

This tour is unique and shows you the human spaceflight with a very special touch. You are standing (as an example) only 5 meters in distance from the Soyuz rocket when the great doors of the Soyuz integration hall at Baikonur will open, and the Soyuz rocket will transported on a train to the Gagarinksy launchpad, what are 1,5 kilometres in distance.

You are be attending the press conferences with the primary and backup crews, and you will see the launch pads of the Energia rocket and the space shuttle Buran. At the day of the liftoff, you are in 1,5 kilometres in distance, when the Soyuz rocket blasts off and head to the International Space Station ISS!

You will never forget in your life this experience!
